But even though Easter is a sacred holiday, the people around us often celebrate it as a secular holiday. We can’t assume that people will understand how Easter relates to our faith just because they celebrate some Easter traditions like Easter egg hunts.Easter is a wonderful season to share our hope in Jesus. But we need to do so in ways that feel natural and meaningful. Here are five easy ways to share your faith in the days leading up to Easter.Photo Credit ©GettyImages/Boonyachoat Thu, 26 Mar 2026 10:30:00 -0400 2026-03-31T01:55:01-04:00 https://www.christianity.com/wiki/holidays/reasons-the-women-of-easter-deserve-our-applause-and-imitation.html https://www.christianity.com/wiki/holidays/reasons-the-women-of-easter-deserve-our-applause-and-imitation.html Stacey Monaco https://www.christianity.com/author/stacey-monaco/ 3 Reasons the Women of Easter Deserve Our Applause and Imitation As the calendar moves forward toward the sacred beauty of this coming Good Friday, Silent Saturday, and Easter Sunday, we have the opportunity to once again look to the scriptures that detail the passion of our Lord.A careful reading of Luke 22-24, John 19-20, and the other gospel accounts of the crucifixion and resurrection, may cause your eyes to be opened afresh and for you to stand astonished at the courage of the women of Easter.Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome were among the women of Easter. They watched from a distance as nails pounded through the flesh of the hands and feet of Jesus, the Lord whom they loved. These women had become steadfast disciples and followed Jesus, tenderly and generously caring for his needs. Joanna is also mentioned as one of the faithful women of Easter, and as a biblical narrative notes, “Many other women who had come up with him (Jesus) to Jerusalem were also there” (Mark 15:41).The Easter story is alive with women whose quiet courage was exhibited from the garish heartbreak of the cross to the wonderment of the tomb and the first appearance of the resurrected Christ. It is easy to slip past the women in these passages, overlooking them just as they might have been in the patriarchal system of their day. Women in their society were not considered to have a voice in community affairs, to be trustworthy messengers, nor were they counted as reliable witnesses to testify in court. As biblical characters and disciples, these women could appear anecdotal to the greater drama of the unjust and brutal trial and crucifixion of the Son of God. They may even seem a small part of the Easter story when contrasted with the delight of a Savior risen on that early Sunday morn.Courage and deep-rooted confidence were exhibited by each one of these women as they stood in the face of stark adversity and the death of their deepest longing and hope. They believed they had found the promised Savior, but the events of that first Easter gave them every reason to be overwhelmed with fear and doubt. Here are 3 elements of courageous faith shown by the women of Easter:  Top featured image created using AI Technology via DALL-E on ChatGPT Wed, 25 Mar 2026 12:24:33 -0400 2026-03-31T01:55:01-04:00 https://www.christianity.com/wiki/current-events/4-key-things-to-consider-in-the-ten-commandments-school-debate.html https://www.christianity.com/wiki/current-events/4-key-things-to-consider-in-the-ten-commandments-school-debate.html Amber Ginter https://www.christianity.com/author/amber-ginter/ 4 Key Things to Consider in the Ten Commandments School Debate Prior to 1980, the 10 Commandments were found in nearly every public school. It wasn’t necessarily a declaration of faith, but part of the values on which our nation was built. For 150 years, these commandments weren’t just posted in schools, but taught by general education teachers to their students. After the Supreme Court ruled in 1980 that mandatory postings were unconstitutional, however, the rule was deemed a violation of the First Amendment’s Establishment Clause, which prohibits Congress from establishing a national religion.Today, the Ten Commandments debate isn’t just political, but deeply spiritual, cultural, and personal. Recently, legislation in states like Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas has passed laws requiring public schools to post 10 Commandments posters, and many other schools are considering similar proposals. For many Christians, this feels like a huge win and a return to biblical values in public life. For others, however, this raises concerns about religious freedom and the role of government in spiritual affairs. On March 17th, 2026, however, a more permanent decision was made by U.S. District Judge Timothy Brooks, who ruled that this law violates the Establishment Clause and the free exercise rights of the plaintiffs. His decision has now permanently blocked the Ten Commandments from being displayed at several Arkansas school districts, causing other states and schools to pause. This conversation has shifted from posters displayed in classrooms to how faith is lived, represented, and perceived in a pluralistic society. As Christians, are we called to advocate for the public display of the Ten Commandments in schools, or to focus more on embodying them in our lives and witness? Furthermore, what is the purpose of God’s law, and how is it meant to function amidst a secular world? Photo Credit: ©Unsplash/javier trueba Tue, 24 Mar 2026 13:26:24 -0400 2026-03-31T01:55:01-04:00 https://www.christianity.com/wiki/christianity-qa/what-did-jesus-do-each-day-during-holy-week.html https://www.christianity.com/wiki/christianity-qa/what-did-jesus-do-each-day-during-holy-week.html Dr. Roger Barrier https://www.christianity.com/author/dr-roger-barrier/ What Did Jesus Do Each Day During Holy Week? Dear Roger,What did Jesus do each day during his last week?Sincerely, AnnaDear Anna,Jesus’ last week began on Palm Sunday. Palm Sunday was so named because the people waved palm branches in honor of the Messiah and then laid them down to cushion His ride as Jesus rode into Jerusalem.Palm Sunday also began the most premeditated, calculated week in the life of Christ. The Gospels are not biographies. Each shares a few words about His birth, one sentence to describe Him from ages 18 to 30, and then concentrates two-thirds of their content on a short 3½ years. The final third of every Gospel deals with one week in the life of Christ.I want to take us on a journey through the last week in Jesus’ life, so I have listed the major activities on each day.Photo credit: ©SWN/CanvaProPhoto Credit: ©iStock / GettyImagesPlus / 1971yes  Wed, 11 Mar 2026 15:21:47 -0400 2026-03-31T01:55:01-04:00 https://www.christianity.com/wiki/current-events/10-new-positive-stories-to-inspire-your-faith.html https://www.christianity.com/wiki/current-events/10-new-positive-stories-to-inspire-your-faith.html Amber Ginter https://www.christianity.com/author/amber-ginter/ 10 New Positive Stories to Inspire Your Faith Sometimes, the world around us can get so heavy, we forget to look for the light. But as a real concern, there are warning signs legalism is sneaking into your faith. What is legalism? Simply put, legalism is when we act with the belief that what we do saves us. Legalism relies upon the power of self and can express itself through religious duty and behavior. This lie leads to death. The letter of the Law kills, Paul tells us, but the Spirit gives life (2 Corinthians 3:6). The Law itself isn’t the problem; only us trying to adhere to it apart from God. Our own abilities can’t save us or make us righteous. We need God and his grace for both. Here are seven warning signs legalism is sneaking into your faith.Photo Credit:©iStock/Getty Images Plus/SIphotography Mon, 09 Mar 2026 11:53:34 -0400 2026-03-31T01:55:01-04:00 https://www.christianity.com/wiki/slideshows/10-sneaky-signs-you-may-be-a-people-pleaser.html https://www.christianity.com/wiki/slideshows/10-sneaky-signs-you-may-be-a-people-pleaser.html Wynita Walther https://www.christianity.com/author/wynita-walthe/ 10 Sneaky Signs You May Be a People Pleaser “Blessed is the one whose sin the LORD does not count against them and in whose spirit is no deceit.”— Psalm 32:2When most of us picture a people pleaser, we imagine someone with a spaghetti noodle for a backbone. Overly agreeable. Unable to say no. The kind of person others casually label a doormat. But real people pleasing is far subtler than that and far more common than we realize. It can look like kindness, helpfulness, even sincere spiritual devotion. What appears loving on the surface is often rooted in fear of rejection, disapproval, or conflict. We soften our words, hide our true feelings, and tell small white lies to keep the peace. Everything seems calm outwardly, yet inside we feel anxious, stretched thin, and quietly disconnected from the freedom God offers.Psalm 32 reminds us that blessing belongs to the one “in whose spirit there is no deceit.” Yet we often manage impressions because we are afraid of what honesty might cost us. If this feels familiar, you are not alone. Below are ten subtle signs you may be caught in a people-pleasing pattern and how faith can lead you back to honesty and peace.Photo Credit: ©Unsplash/Vitaly Gariev Thu, 05 Mar 2026 15:17:25 -0500 2026-03-31T01:55:01-04:00 https://www.christianity.com/wiki/slideshows/ways-spring-showers-can-refresh-your-faith-journey.html https://www.christianity.com/wiki/slideshows/ways-spring-showers-can-refresh-your-faith-journey.html Becky Weber https://www.christianity.com/author/becky-weber/ 4 Ways Spring Showers Can Refresh Your Faith Journey One of my favorite things to do when I get up in the morning is to grab a cup of coffee, sit just for a few minutes, and look outside from these large windows in our house. I love sunny days, but sometimes it is so calming to look out the window when it is raining. Especially with the spring rain, I love that it brings so much life after it falls. It reminds me that nicer weather is on the way, and everything will soon be green. There is something about the rain that, when you stop and think about it for a minute, shows how much we can gain from it as a metaphor for our faith. It is a good way to take something complicated and challenging to make sense of and bring it to a place we can understand. It gives deeper meaning to everyday things.Rain can paint a beautiful picture of what it means to experience different things in our faith.Photo Credit: ©Getty Images/Julia_Sudnitskaya Thu, 05 Mar 2026 15:16:29 -0500 2026-03-31T01:55:01-04:00 https://www.christianity.com/wiki/current-events/8-things-christian-zionism-is-not.html https://www.christianity.com/wiki/current-events/8-things-christian-zionism-is-not.html Dr. Susan Michael https://www.christianity.com/author/dr-susan-michael/ 8 Things Christian Zionism Is Not Over time, efforts to delegitimize Israel have also attempted to discredit Christian Zionism. Opponents have claimed it is a new movement that is a politicalization of Scripture, heretical, and is only about Armageddon. The Jewish community has been told the movement has ulterior motives and cannot be trusted. It is important to unpack a few of these false claims and clarify, as Anglican priest and theologian Gerald McDermott says, what Christian Zionism is not.[1]Photo Credit: ©Unsplash/Dmitry Ratushny[1] Gerald R. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” - Romans 12:1-2The apostle Paul writes the first part of Romans to defend against critics of the Gospel he preaches. The famous Romans 8 concludes his argument, which is why Christians over the centuries have found so much truth in that chapter. He spends a couple of chapters exploring the role of Israel and the Gospel. In chapter 12, he begins another section talking about living the Christian life. He shares a secret. We have a choice. We can either be conformed to the ways of the world (its ideas and deceptions and weakness unto death), or we can be transformed. How will we be transformed rightly? By renewing our mind. Our behavior comes from what we believe. About God first, then ourselves and others and how the world works. Some scholars call this our worldview. Behavior modification, or legalism, doesn’t work. That only addresses the outer life and fails. Through the new covenant, God addresses the heart, the thinking, and in so doing, we can live a divine life leading to eternal blessings. But how can we do this? Here are 8 ways to renew your mind. Photo Credit: ©GettyImages/Takako Watanabe Wed, 04 Mar 2026 11:55:00 -0500 2026-03-31T01:55:01-04:00
